A new publication on Digital Competence is released by the EU.

In this updated version of the Digital Competencies Framework the main change addresses the competence levels. While in the previous version a differentiation was made between 4 levels (Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced and Highly specialised), the range of levels now extended to 8 levels. Criteria used for a more detailed ranking system are: Complexity of tasks, Autonomy and Cognitive demand. This is a reasonable further differentiation and will surely provide improved guidance for the design of learning arrangement in Digital Education.
